Enterprise Glossary

The Enterprise Glossary is your workspace’s shared vocabulary. It captures the business and technical terms that appear across your model (what each term means, how it is used, and where it has been seen) so everyone works from the same definitions.

You reach it from the Repository as the Enterprise Glossary tab.

For each term, the glossary records:

  • Term: The name of the concept (e.g., “Settlement”, “Tenant”).
  • Definition: A short explanation of what the term means.
  • Aliases: Alternative names the same concept goes by.
  • Source: Where the term was first seen, with an expandable list of every workstream or connector run that has referenced it, and when it was first seen.

Terms are surfaced automatically as ArchNGN processes your inputs. When a workstream analyses a document or a connector syncs an external system, the terminology it encounters is captured and attributed back to that run, so the glossary grows as you work rather than needing to be written by hand.

  • Onboarding: Get up to speed on the vocabulary of an unfamiliar domain.
  • Consistency: Confirm the agreed meaning of a term before using it in a design or report.
  • Traceability: See which jobs and connectors first introduced a term and when.
  • Search: Find terms by name, definition, alias, or notes.
  • Filter: Narrow by source type (workstream or connector).
  • Delete: Remove individual terms, or select several and delete in bulk.
  • Repository: the broader view that hosts the Enterprise Glossary tab.
  • Metamodel: the schema (categories, types, relationships) that objects use; distinct from the term glossary.
