SharePoint

The SharePoint connector downloads files you have shared with “Anyone with the link” from SharePoint or OneDrive and analyses them. It needs no credentials, no app consent, and stores no secret. Each link is fetched directly, the same way a browser opens it. See Connectors for the general workflow.

SharePoint is a document source: a run produces Reference Library registry items and Enterprise Glossary terms, not architecture objects. Use the Analysis Mode field to choose between recording only formally defined governance (default) or cataloguing every document.

Each document must be shared with a public, anonymous link:

  1. In SharePoint or OneDrive, select the file and click Share.
  2. Click the link settings (the audience selector) and choose Anyone with the link. Keep it as Can view.
  3. Click Copy link.

If your organisation has disabled “Anyone” links, a SharePoint administrator must allow them, or the file cannot be used with this connector yet.

File LinksThe shared links, one per line

Notes:

  • File links only. Folder links are not supported. Cross-tenant folder enumeration requires app-consented Microsoft Graph access, which is a planned later tier.
  • Links that require sign-in are not supported.
  • PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files have their text extracted automatically; plain-text formats (Markdown, TXT, CSV, etc.) are analysed directly.
  • Links must resolve to publicly reachable hosts; each link (and any redirect) is validated before download.

Each analysed document is assessed for formally defined governance (policies, standards, principles, decisions) and recorded in the Reference Library with an evidence quote proving its classification. Glossary terms are extracted from the same content. The run summary records every file analysed and the reason it was kept or skipped.
